OpenStudy (tanabugg):

Tides are caused by the force of inertia from the sun and moon acting on earth (1point ) A. true b. false

OpenStudy (tanabugg):

@SolomonZelman

OpenStudy (tanabugg):

@Mehek14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The gravitational attraction of the moon causes the oceans to bulge out in the direction of the moon. Another bulge occurs on the opposite side, since the Earth is also being pulled toward the moon (and away from the water on the far side). Since the earth is rotating while this is happening, two tides occur each day.

OpenStudy (tanabugg):

So it's false

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'd say so because it has the sun as one of the variables. :)

OpenStudy (tanabugg):

Thanks so much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem. Have a good day!

OpenStudy (tanabugg):

Thanks you too
