People in math chat are to worried about chatting with others bout random stuff than helping others.....

Yeah some people use it for a study sight and a chatting site but at some point everyone comes here to get help. As long as users follow the rules and be kind then it's alright as long as you use OS for the right reasons. :)

There are some possible solutions to your problem tho:

1. You could try tagging users and see if they come (no mass tagging though).
2. Just post the link to the question in chat and specify what the topic is (some users only reply to certain topics/subjects).
3. Try befriending some people (If you know them and they know you, the chances of them helping you will be greater).

Just a few I could think of, there's probably more.

No it's not okay for anyone to say anything like that. If you reported them then they will be dealt with it might take a little bit but it's always dealt with. And you did the right thing by reporting them. :)

It also helps the mods if you post which chat the comment(s) were said in. Or if it's a message, attaching a screenshot. This will help the chances of them taking action.

Hello there @briannabug . Users on here do not have to and are not forced to help. It's up to their choice. If you need any help, tag users who are expert on that subject, and if no one comes, post the link to your question to the chat so more people will come. Don't spam your link or post your full question in chats. I sometimes post a question and if no one comes, i just leave it there and continue studying other things until someone comes and helps me. Or, i just leave the uestion as it is and come back to it later.
