HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP ME Peter played his favorite video game for 10 hours last week. Today, Peter's parents restricted him to 5 additional hours each week for the next 8 weeks. Create the function, f(x), that models Peter's total video game time, and explain what each number in the situation represents graphically, using complete sentences.
the required function for play time is, \[f(x)=5x+10, x≤8\] where x represents the # of weeks passed 10 represents the # of hours he played to start with, that is when x = 0 f(x) gives the # of hours played given the week number x
@AnitaS. so this function what you above wrote mean that Peter played 10 hours in last week but after the parents restriction Peter will can playing in the next first week - because you say that x represent the week number so in first week he will played 5*1+10 hours what mean 15 hours per week - so i think that will be very very beautiful for Peter because he will can playing with 5 hours much than the last week when he played 10 hours - do you think it so restriction for Peter ?
none of these helped
@kyleighcx: Telling your helpers that they're not helpful is a recipe for losing their support. Before you criticize their efforts, show us you own work. Somehow I suspect you've not done any.
So since we are creating a function we must use f(x). So the function that models Peters overall game time as well as his game time for the next 8 weeks is f(x)=5x+10, now to explain what each number in the situation represents, the f(x) is the total amount of hours he will have played at the given amount of x (the x represents the weeks) 8=x. So the 5 in the equation represents the additional hours each week, and the +10 represents the number of hours he has already played.
@mathmale thank you for what you have wrote here above - very nice
