Is it because 0,9 and 9 is the y cordinate.

The rise would be -9 because (going up or down =rise) you are going down 9 and over 6 to get to the coordinate (6,0)

^-------------rise is when you go up or down, you know when to go up if its a positive slope, when its a negative slope you decrease
