I did for the second one, 60-30%= 42

OpenStudy (scienceteen8):

ok how did you gt it?

OpenStudy (briannabug):

There are 60 6th graders okay? And 30% have cats. So what I did was take 60 and subtact it by 30% and I got 42

OpenStudy (scienceteen8):

ok ok thank you for that one :)

OpenStudy (briannabug):

Your welcome:)

OpenStudy (briannabug):

Okay, what do you think you have to do to find the amount saved on the first question?

OpenStudy (scienceteen8):

either subtract multiply or divide

OpenStudy (scienceteen8):

i would choose to.........subtract?

OpenStudy (briannabug):

Yes you are correct.

OpenStudy (scienceteen8):

ok

OpenStudy (briannabug):

Sale Price = Original Price - Amount Saved. So, Sale Price = 45 - 9 Sale Price = $36 (answer) This means, the cost of the item to you is $36. You will pay $36 for a item with original price of $45 when discounted 20%. In other words, So if you buy an item at $45 with 20% discounts, you pay 9 - 9 = $36

OpenStudy (briannabug):

I hope this helped^

OpenStudy (scienceteen8):

yes yes it did thank you sooooooooooooooo much :)

OpenStudy (briannabug):

No problem :)
