What is the outlier in the number set: 3, 15, 7, 4, 6, 3, and 5.

OpenStudy (dogzcatz):

15

Outlier means the number that is farthest apart from the others. The outlier is 15, because all of the other numbers are three to four apart (7-3 = 4), 15 is 8 apart from its closest number, 7 (15-7 = 8). Hope this helps and don't forget to click the 'best response' button :)

the outlier is 15... remember outlier means a number not fitting into the other numbers
