Answer: The Protestant Reformation started with the Bubonic Plague. This plague came along and killed off many of the Catholic priests, as well as wiping out entire villages. The Black Death caused a shortage of clerics who had previously hand-copies books. Since there was a shortage of priests, the church had to hire new priests.

Answer: separation of church and state

Answer: The founding of the Jesuits, Reform of the papacy, and the Council of Trent. They were important because they unified the church, help spread the gospel, and validated the church.
