??

OpenStudy (ayonnaleflore):

Find a number that is between 8/11 and 0.85 (repeating decimal) A. 23/33 B. 39/66 C. 157/198 D. 88/99 (all fractions)

OpenStudy (photon336):

do you have to estimate? or can you work these out?

OpenStudy (ayonnaleflore):

work them out...... i just don't know how to find the number that's in the middle

OpenStudy (photon336):

if so I would convert 8/11 to decimal. \[\frac{ 8 }{ 11 } = 0.727, repeating \] ideally it should be between these two numbers. \[0.8555, repeating \] or \[0.727<x<0.855\]

OpenStudy (ayonnaleflore):

it 0.858585...... repeating

OpenStudy (photon336):

yeah you could just enter these values into a calculator.

OpenStudy (ayonnaleflore):

but how would you find the number that's between the two numbers though

OpenStudy (photon336):

You could easily enter the fractions in a calculator and you know that the number must be between 0.72727(repeating) and .85858585 repeating

OpenStudy (photon336):

@ayonnaleflore you know that the number must be greater than 0.72727~ and less than 0.85858585

OpenStudy (ayonnaleflore):

so the answer would be 23/33?

OpenStudy (photon336):

that equals 0.69, remember it has to be greater than 0.727 and less than 0.8585 both repeating

OpenStudy (ayonnaleflore):

so it would be 39/66 correct?

OpenStudy (ayonnaleflore):

@Photon336
