I'm not so great at subjects like these but here is a site that might help. http://patient.info/health/common-dislocations One of the paragraphs says "Joints which are more mobile tend to be at greater risk of dislocation. Comparing two ball and socket joints - the shoulder and the hip - makes the point. Both are similarly made, consisting of a ball of bone moving in a socket. Ball and socket joints can move in every direction. The price for this mobility is that there are many directions in which the joint could be 'pulled out'. However, the shoulder is more easily dislocated."
