I've seen many posts in OS Feedback talking about the sprauger template glitch and speculation on what it is and what causes it. Jay has stated many times what causes it, why it happens, and that he has fixed it in his extension, but since the community keeps wondering about this, I've made this post to remind people of what is really going on with the template.
It happens whenever a reply is posted on a post you have viewed that a "ghost" (actually a guest) is viewing, this is because when the JSON of the question is updated, it removes the value of small avatar picture for the guest viewers causing an error in the template... My extension fixes it by making the template look for a avatar value that does not get removed, thereby fixing the error ~Jaynator495 He has also stated many times that this and the posts getting locked in the box are related, and that he has not yet had a chance to eradicate all of the glitch, so to fix that with his extension he has said to just change posts and come back, and you have successfully fixed the issue without waiting for the page to finish reloading
Yeah, Iʻm not downloading that
Hmm. Just wondering, why not? It's not a virus or anything.
It has been conversed about many times, on many threads. Long story short...extensions have access to your browser, ofc, and with this access, it can get a lot of things. Such as passwords you use. Jay has been getting into peopleʻs OS accounts, how do you think he does it?
Wouldn't that be every extension then? Hmm. Well, if you want. We could discuss this in PM.
Wait so if someone has Jay's extension number on os.. can they get on ur account as well?
Itʻs not that simple
oh cause a lot of people on os have his extension number...
Can we stop mentioning him? He already got into trouble numerous times. I so agree with @ShadowLegendX.
Okay
By making this post you are only making his extension less famous than it already is. From what I was told, he told you to make this post. Now what you don't know is Preetha asked Jay to get his extension off of this site....which he still hasn't done. However he has done a great job stay off the site (cough) bottom line: Don't make posts relating Jay here. It'll only get him more hate for what he has done in the past. Thanks in advance.
@Zeronknight , what you don't know about the extension is that it remotely downloads and executes javascript payloads. Paired with requiring access to A LOT of browser permissions, there is nothing keeping a malicious user (Jay would never, he only crashed this site innumerable times) from momentarily changing the scripts on the remote server to be malicious. OS has terrible security and is not even HTTPS which means that your USERNAMES AND PASSWORDS are sent in PLAINTEXT over your browser, which is trivially easy data for a malicious user to sniff and obtain. But Jay would never do such a thing, since he only ever admitted to doing so once already, and is only banned permanently for crashing the site for an entire day. He'd never do such a thing, right? Remember the flashlight apps that need contact info and access to your personal information and access to your GPS location? Careful what kind of stuff you download and install. Computers might not directly harm us but the are the locks and keys to most modern systems, and if they are not used wisely, very, very, bad things can happen. Good security practice on OS is just good habit making. >Oh, and that extension has access to ALL of your browsing data, so anything unencrypted could be sniffed by a malicious user. Just saying.

Thatʻs sad
Keep it up and prove our point

Anywho, right after i check my notifications im gone (hopefully i have no reason to ever sign in again)
If you love to help, you ought not to hurt. You've proven yourself time and again to be untrustworthy based on your actions. Lacking evidence, I judge from intent. But in the presence of evidence, intent becomes less and less relevant. Maybe if you wanted some credibility you wouldn't spend your free time "playing" with this site and would instead arrange for things done on a private server.
