Need someone to actually help me

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

what do you need help with?

rebeccaxhawaii (rebeccaxhawaii):

no what you need is to pay attention in class

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

Im on an online class lmao

rebeccaxhawaii (rebeccaxhawaii):

you can still pay attention

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

gtfo rebecca

https://media.education2020.com/evresources/2003-08-05-00-00_files/i0020000.jpg Write an equation for the line by using ordered pairs from the line to find a function rule. A. y = 3x + 3 B. y = 2x – 2 C. y = 2x + 3 D. y = 3x

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

sorry bout that anime

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

It's okay. This line is linear, so you only need to find the equation for the line. Lets use the points (0,3) and (1,5). Do you know how to find the slope?

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

No thats what im confused about

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

I think the answer is D but idk

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

The slope formula is\[\frac{ y_2-y_1 }{ x_2-x_1 }\] In the coordinate (0,3) 0 would be x1 and 3 would be y1. for the coordinate (1,5) 1 would be x2 and 5 would be y2. Now plug that in to get \[\frac{ 5-3 }{ 1-0 }\] After simplifying you should get\[\frac{ 2 }{ 1 }\] This simply equals 2. The slope of the equation is 2.

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

Okay so not d

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

Because the slope is 2 you can cross out A and D

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

Now lets find the b value. The b value is the y intercept of the graph. It can be found by looking at the graph or by solving for b by plugging in one of the coordinates given. I'll show you by solving for b. The equation we have so far is y=2x+b I am going to use the coordinate (0,3) to find the b value. \[3=2(0)+b\] When you multipy a number with zero, the result will be zero. Now we have \[3=0+b\] Since you cannot subtract zero, you are left with b=3 With the information found, you can now plug it all in to get the final equation. The final equation is y=2x+3

thanks!!
