A pedigree is a chart or image that records the ancestry of a family. A row represents the same generation, and connecting lines show parent-child relationships. Squares usually represent males, and circles usually represent females (this might not always be true, depending on your teacher!). Pedigrees can be used to show what family members are affected by a certain genetic trait, usually denoted by a filled in or solid shape. An outline indicates an unaffected member. Does this help?
simpler? @baconboy73
Basically a picture that shows which certain people in a family are affected by a genetic disease.
how do you read it though?
Solid circles/squares mean that person is affected, empty means that person is not affected. Circles mean girls, squares mean guys.
a pedigree is a diagram showing genetic relationships between members of a family. It is used to analyze patterns of inheritance for specific genetic traits.
