Black History Month poem? Please help, will fan and medal
I need to write a poem about any person or group that played a vital role in advancing the cause of equal rights for African Americans. Doesn't matter how long, but it just needs to be a poem about a person mentioned in the print (person that played vital role). Can you help? I suck at writing.
Do you have a certain person you want it or need it on? I could possibly help with it.
Growing up in Montgomery's worst She went to school with her head high, one of the first With hopes and dreams, knowing wrong from right She went through the motions with all of her might Segregation? No big deal for her She remained on that bus seat, quite the entrepreneur As she said it was her constitutional right She stood her ground and put up a fight She was taken, locked up, and presented in court She declared herself not guilty, with little support Placed on probation, forced to drop out of college It didn't stop her from acquiring a great deal of knowledge Despite her personal challenges she became a plaintiff to work on a case To support her people and the segregated race Unconstitutional Montgomery's bus system was declared to be She had convinced others to agree While her role in the fight may not be well known What matters is the dedication and heart that was shown She provided many people, moral courage And her effect on segregation continued to flourish
Is that good? I did it on Claudette Colvin
I'd say it is! You did great !
