Annie is a basketball player who makes, on average, 65% of her free throws. Assume each shot is independent and the probability of making any given shot is .65. What's the probability Annie will miss three straight free throws before she makes one. I just want to make sure I did this right so here's what I got : (1-.65)^3 X .65= 0.02786875 or 0.0279. Any feedback would be great!

I think the answer is 0.043

oh becuase its just asking for the probability she'll miss 3 free throws so you dont need to multiply it by .65? @faiqraees

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay that makes sense thinking about it I dont know why I multiplied it by .65 Thank you! @FaiqRaees
