Okay so I found a link (a video) which explains the short story perfectly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1sixOJxW8c .......as my answer I would say that the protagonist was the Duban, and the antagonist would be the the Grand Visier because the Grand Visier caused Duban to get beheaded.
