In recent studies, each of the following variable pairs shows a high correlation. Which do not appear to share a cause-effect relationship? Check all that apply. A. Japan's stock market performance and hours of television watched per day B. Shoe size and ratings for a radio show C. Basketball games won and number of tickets sold D. Hours of television watched per day and performance in school

OpenStudy (andrewishere):

Its not D.

OpenStudy (andrewishere):

Or B

OpenStudy (andrewishere):

OK I would say choice C. This is why: Basketball games won and number of tickets sold Basketball games won shows a high correlation with the tickets sold because this may help coaches or whoever to determine whether or not the population of the spectators affect if the team wins (That is ONE circumstance, there are many). This is also a cause and effect relationship because if the team wins a lot, more tickets will be sold where as if the team loses a lot then there it isnt as likely to have as high of ticket sales (This is also only ONE circumstance, there are many more).

OpenStudy (lilkg77):

Thanks @AndrewIsHere but its more than one answer so it cant just be C

OpenStudy (kuoministers):

A and B do not show much correlation

OpenStudy (lilkg77):

You got it wrong @AndrewIsHere The question is "Which DO NOT appear to share a cause-effect relationship"

OpenStudy (kuoministers):

Yeah, I was about to say that

OpenStudy (lilkg77):

Thanks @Kuoministers

OpenStudy (kuoministers):

No problem :)
