What are writing lol?

Since the equations equal the same thing, you can set them equal to each other\[x-5=-x+3\] You need to move all the x's to one side. I'll move the -x to the left side to get\[2x-5=3\] Now we need to move the -5 over to the right side of the = sign to get\[2x=8\] All that is left is to divide by 2 on both sides so you can get x alone\[\frac{ 2x }{ 2 }=\frac{ 8 }{ 2 }\] After doing this you should get \[x=4\]
