Line AB has an equation of a line y=5x-2. Which of the following could be an equation for a line that is parallel to line AB? y=5x+3 y=1/5x+3 y=-5x+3 y=-1/5x+3

563blackghost (563blackghost):

oops i read it wrong >< sorry..one sec

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Ok the whenever finding the parallel slope the slope would stay the same....so since AB has a slope of 5 the parallel slope would also have a slope of 5....but the y-intercept needs to be different otherwise they would be on each other....so what would it be?

OpenStudy (mari1234):

Is it the first one

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Correct ^^

OpenStudy (mari1234):

563blackghost (563blackghost):
