Find the perimeter of the shape below:
well.. what would be the perimeter of that shape? what does "perimeter" mean anyway?
the length of each side added together
alrite... then...notice the coordinates of each of those points you have four points... so.. one sec
Its an even two, If you add -2, -1, -1 and a 2 it gets an even two. The negatives added up should equal 4, then its like taking away a 2 so, that leaves you with 2.
Here are the answers: 7.4 8.9 11.2 13.6
so.. you have four points, S, R, U, T so, find their distance, notice their coordinates \(\textit{distance between 2 points}\\ \quad \\ \begin{array}{rrlllll} &x_1&y_1&x_2&y_2\\ % (a,b) &S({\color{red}{ -2}}\quad ,&{\color{blue}{ 7}})\quad % (c,d) &R({\color{red}{ -1}}\quad ,&{\color{blue}{ 3}})\\ &R({\color{red}{ -1}}\quad ,&{\color{blue}{ 3}})\quad % (c,d) &U({\color{red}{ -1}}\quad ,&{\color{blue}{ 5}})\\ &U({\color{red}{ -1}}\quad ,&{\color{blue}{ 5}})\quad % (c,d) &T({\color{red}{ 2}}\quad ,&{\color{blue}{ 5}})\\ &T({\color{red}{ 2}}\quad ,&{\color{blue}{ 5}})\quad % (c,d) &S({\color{red}{ -2}}\quad ,&{\color{blue}{ 7}})\\ \end{array}\qquad % distance value d = \sqrt{({\color{red}{ x_2}}-{\color{red}{ x_1}})^2 + ({\color{blue}{ y_2}}-{\color{blue}{ y_1}})^2}\)
and them sum them up, to get the perimeter
then rather
I got 14.1
But that is not an answer
please help
14.1 hmmmmm lemm what did you get for say the SR distance anyway?
hold on I did something wrong
I got 4 for the distance on SR
ok... what did you get anyway?
ugh i messed up agian
I got 13.6 which is the last answer
thank you
is that the correct answer
hmmm ok.. what did you get for SR though?
4.12
not 4
and i got 2 for RU and 3 for UT and finally 4.5 for TS
13.6 is correctt for the perimeter :)
\(\bf \sqrt{17}+\sqrt{20}+2+3\implies 13.6\)
4.12+2+3+4.5=13.62 which rounds to 13.6
yes the square root of 17 is about 4.12 and the square root of 20 is about 4.5
i got the question correct thank you for your help
