Question

MEDAL!!! IS AP CHEM HARD???...I'm planning my schedule for next year and want to know how hard AP Chemistry is. Is it a lot of reading? I'm also planning on taking AP Calculus BC. Is that an overload? My schedule so far is Honors Lit, Physics, AP USH, AP Calc BC, AP Environmental, and Sociology. Is this a tough schedule? Should I replace chem with environmental to make it easier???? Please help!!!

AP Chem is difficult; From experience. However, if you do the homework and study you should be okay. Also, The toughness of the schedule depends on the person, personally I wouldn't take Calc with Physics and Chem, but that's just me. If you think you will have the time to put in the work and effort for the AP classes then go for it. But If you don't like to study then I would suggest you drop a couple.

I took AP Chem last year. I honestly didn't think the course was terribly difficult, but there was some material that was definitely tricky if you didn't study. I'm not sure I would recommend taking a normal physics with your course load, but its up to you. Don't take environmental its considered by college admissions to be a lower in difficulty class compared to AP Chem and you will put the same effort into both of them to get an A.

Having taught AP chem for almost 12 years, I'd suggest cutting down on your other APs to focus on a \(maximum\) of 2. If you're planning on going to college for science, then AP Chem & AP Calc are your best bets. If you don't think science is for you, then you shouldn't take an AP science.

@sweetburger is correct, AP environmental is generally considered the "weakest" AP science. Unless you're planning on majoring in environmental science, it's the easiest thing to cut from your schedule

I took Ap chemistry, it is nothing hard. Please don't panic. Also, I have took enviornmental science, very easy. :) Good luck!
