Question

For an essay, I had this as my attention grabber
"Do you remember having to stay up all night during your high school years finishing an essay that was due within hours?" and the teacher said not to ask yes/no questions to leave the audience on a thought and he told me to try saying this..
In high school, why did writing a paper the night before it was due work? Shouldn't that have failed miserably, leaving the student a shell of anxiety and regret?
