OpenStudy (mendicant_bias):

Are integrals operators?

OpenStudy (mendicant_bias):

I'm just recently taking Quantum and both lack a good amount of the prerequisite knowledge and am rusty on some things; I'm watching a lecture where the lecturer vaguely defines an operator as, "A thing that takes in a function and spits out another function of the same variables" - to me, that sounds (potentially) like integration or derivation; are integrals or derivatives operators, or no?

OpenStudy (mendicant_bias):

(And if not, what is the distinction?)
