Simplify the trigonometric expression: cot θ tan θ
rewrite cot and tan in terms of sin and cos. cot theta = ?? tan theta = ?
I have no idea
Well what is cot the inverse of?
And what is the relationship between sin and cos and tan
I have no idea these are so confusing!!!!
to start trigonometry you should be familiar with inverse trig functions \[\large\rm \sin \theta =\frac{1}{\csc \theta} ~~~ \cos \theta= \frac{1}{\sec \theta} ~~\tan \theta= \frac{\sin \theta}{\cos \theta} ~~~\cot \theta=\frac{\cos \theta}{\sin \theta}\]
Ok?
no question mark. 100% ok..
so tan theta =sin /cos you can replace tan with sin/cos in the original expression.
Ok
do it. same with cot theta and then simplify...
Sin 0?
@nnesha
Hello???
why so difficile ? we know that cotß = 1/tanß 1 ---- * tanß = 1 because tanß by tanß simplified tanß hope this will help you
@alex8911 do you understand it now - this is more easy
@Brill what is your opinion please about these ?
@Nnesha why so complex ?
Well yeah that certainly is a much more efficient way I would recommend @jhonyy9's way due to having bypassed the need to convert to sin's and cos's
thank you very much @Brill
what's complex about it ??? that's an important rule. the way you solved is also work, but one can be confused why are we changing only one ratio to an inverse. both are easy.
