WILL MEDAL AND FAN Can someone check my work please. I have to start my opening paragraph. My prompt is should certain books be banned from schools and libraries? I have to complete these sentences Complete the following sentence: I plan to prove that... Cross out "I plan to prove that." What remains is your clearly stated position. Complete the following sentence: This matters because... Cross out "This matters because." What remains is your purpose for writing. Combine these two thoughts into one coherent sentence; this is your claim.
1. I have I plan to prove that there is no reason books should be banned. 2. There is no reason that any type of book should be banned. 3. This matters because books are being banned for the reason only of that it doesn't go with what they agree with. 4. Books are being banned for the reason only of that it doesn't go with what they agree with. 5. There is no logical reason that books should be banned because some people think that it goes against their morals.
I would say "While one of the reasons that certain books are banned is because some people feel that they go against their morals, it is not a logical reason to take them out of schools and libraries because it is not fair to other people who may find value in the books."
Could you help me with the counter claim? Complete the following sentence: My claim states that... Cross out "My claim states that." What remains is your clearly stated position. Complete the following sentence: Some may disagree with me because... Cross out "Some may disagree with me because." What remains is the opposition's point of view. Combine these two thoughts into one coherent sentence; this is the counterclaim.
How would I restate my claim, without saying what i did before ?
Okay. Sorry my computer always lags in openstudy, so i have to refresh each time I answer a question. "My claim states that librarys and schools should not ban because of people who may not feel that it has good morals, since these people could just instead, not pick up the book."
Do you think that this is repetitive?
Claim: "My claim states that librarys and schools should not ban books because of people who may not feel that it has good morals, because it is not fair to other people who may find value in the books." Opening: "While one of the reasons that certain books are banned is because some people feel that they go against their morals, it is not a logical reason to take them out of schools and libraries, since these people could, instead, just not pick up the book. I just reworded them a bit.
No I love it Ok, then i could say for the Some may disagree because they believe that it is harmful to read( like reading about homosexuality will make you gay) Oh well nevermined THANK YOU SO MUCH, HOW COULD I EVER REPAY YOU
Okay you're welcome. You could say: Some may disagree with me because they feel that libraries should filter out material that, could be controversial, especially to protect the youth. Such as with books that contain homosexuality. Of course, you have to make sure this will all fit in one sentence, I am wordy when I write.
Thank you so much.
