find what t is

OpenStudy (21younga):

have you tried to do it? please tell me if you have and I'll tell you what you did wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i havent i dont understand what to do

OpenStudy (21younga):

okay so first find common denominators for -14 you do this -14/1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (21younga):

keep 2/3 then just multiply -14/1= -42/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (21younga):

then your new equation is -42/3 x 2/3t

OpenStudy (21younga):

then multiply -42/3x 2/3= ? tell me what it is

OpenStudy (21younga):

it equals -84/9t

OpenStudy (21younga):

it equals -84/9t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's the opposite of division? Multiplication, correct? Opposite operations would help you in this case. -14 = 2/3t Since we're multiplying instead of dividing, we have to multiply -14 by the reciprocal of 2/3 (which is 3/2). So, we would do this: (3/2)(-14) = (2/3t)(3/2) You can plug the left side into your calculator. Tell me what you come up with. :) The right side cancels out and you're left with t. (3/2)(-14) = t
