An empty swimming pool needs to be filled to the top. The pool is shaped like a cylinder with a diameter of 10 m and a depth of 1.8 m . Suppose water is pumped into the pool at a rate of 19 m3 per hour. How many hours will it take to fill the empty pool? Use the value 3.14 for π , and round your answer to the nearest hour. Do not round any intermediate computations.
Sometimes it helps to draw a picture
|dw:1455916715855:dw|is it 1.8 or 18???
1.8
Rate =\[19m ^{3}\]
Well you would first find the volume of the cylinder.... \(\huge{ \pi r^{2} h}\) input what you know.... \(\huge{3.14(5^{2})1.8}\) you have to find the radius of the circle in which you divide 10 by 2 which equals 5...
So your question is just asking how many hours it'll take to fill the pool
the answer to that would be 141.37 ?
Correct ^^ but its \(\large{141.3}\)...
Now you would divide... \(\huge{\frac {141.3}{19}}\)
I would agree with @563blackghost who deserves the medal <3
definitely! thank you so much for all the help!!!
aw your welcome anytime <3 Good luck
