OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont know

OpenStudy (dan815):

yeah!

OpenStudy (dan815):

you should understand it from the basics

OpenStudy (dan815):

it takes longer but it will get a lot simpler

OpenStudy (marcelie):

yeah..

OpenStudy (dan815):

do u like calculus 1?

OpenStudy (marcelie):

well i like math but i just started calc 1

OpenStudy (dan815):

ya dont worry then!

OpenStudy (dan815):

you should watch MIT Calculus play list

OpenStudy (marcelie):

i dont know if i shoud give up

OpenStudy (dan815):

its good

OpenStudy (dan815):

NO ofcourse not!!!

OpenStudy (dan815):

you're just getting started!!!!

OpenStudy (dan815):

i can u show u some calculus to get u interested!

OpenStudy (dan815):

umm calculus starts from a very simple idea, the slope of a line

OpenStudy (dan815):

slope which tells you the change in y for change in x, it's the 'rate' of y, as a function of x

OpenStudy (dan815):

are you comfortable with how the first principle formula comes about

OpenStudy (marcelie):

i think so

OpenStudy (dan815):

okay so this as h-->0 f(x+h)-f(x) f'(x)= -------- h

OpenStudy (dan815):

the derivative of f(x) at x is given by this formula, which is just the slope formula as the 2nd point gets closer and closer to x
