4000+240=x x is your answer, but with a dollar sign
4000x0.06 = 240
I think you get the RIGHT answer, but I think the question is poorly written. If I am returning $500 dollars in merchandise, I must have paid taxes on the "merchandise" right? I should be given a credit of $530. So $4500 - $530 = $3970 $3970 + $3970(0.06) = $4208.2 which isn't an option
