OpenStudy (petlovers123):

The coordinates of point P on a coordinate grid are (−5, −6). Point P is reflected across the y-axis to obtain point Q and across the x-axis to obtain point R. What are the coordinates of points Q and R?

OpenStudy (petlovers123):

@hartnn

OpenStudy (petlovers123):

Thx for always answering my question unlike other people

hartnn (hartnn):

point reflected across y axis will have the opposite sign of x co-ordinate ex : point (a,b) reflected across y axis will have the co-ordinate (-a,b)

hartnn (hartnn):

point reflected across x axis will have the opposite sign of y co-ordinate ex : point (a,b) reflected across x axis will have the co-ordinate (a,-b)

OpenStudy (petlovers123):

oh

hartnn (hartnn):

and i am glad i could be of help :)

hartnn (hartnn):

so what co-ordinates of Q, R did u get?

OpenStudy (petlovers123):

Q(-5, 6) and R(5, -6) .. Is this right

hartnn (hartnn):

read my comments again and try again? :)

OpenStudy (petlovers123):

Q(5, -6) and R(-5, 6)

hartnn (hartnn):

\(\huge \checkmark\)

OpenStudy (petlovers123):

Yes Thank you SO MUCH

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^
