Apples sell for $1.90 per pound, and bananas sell for $0.75 per pound. Troy bought some apples and some bananas. Together they weighed 3.8 pounds, and cost $5.84. Let p represent the number of pounds of apples Troy purchased. Which equation represents the problem described here? A. 1.9p + 0.75 = 3.8 B. 1.15p + 2.85 = 3.8 C. 1.15p + 2.85 = 5.84 D. –1.15p + 2.85 = 5.84

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry @jdoe0001

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u help me @jhonyy9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or @Safa102

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (safa102):

i have a feeling its A cuz of the order but i also want to say c cuz it ends with the right amount and it has to be positive!!! lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u know which one @jhonyy9

OpenStudy (safa102):

But for now i'm saying C...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i with we could pick both lol

OpenStudy (safa102):

ikr

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*wish

OpenStudy (safa102):

bman = FANNED :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank u too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is c

OpenStudy (safa102):

i'm gonna say that!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@alphadxg what do u think

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

@Safa102 can you write here how you have got right the choice C. for we can understanding how you can calculi it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[plz\]

OpenStudy (safa102):

sorry @jhonyy9 but that was just a guess!

OpenStudy (safa102):

i hope u get it right @bman22 :DD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jdoe0001 is c the correct answer

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well.. we dunno unless you solve for both, apples and bananas

OpenStudy (safa102):

Thanks for the medal Bman! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do u mean

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well, seems you'd need to solve for both, before any of those given choices can match

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the answer c @jdoe0001

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well.. how so though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the answer c plz tell me ;(

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well.. dunno, haven't done it yet... but is a system of equations and you'd need to solve for both, apples and bananas firstly

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

and a parrot here on my shoulder is telling me, you haven't covered system of equations yet

OpenStudy (safa102):

Dang it...i don't have a medal anymore lol

OpenStudy (safa102):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess is c then

OpenStudy (safa102):
