A light bulb consumes 2400 watt-hours per day. How long does it take to consume 12600 watt-hours? please help me

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\begin{array}{cclll} watt-hours&days \\\hline\\ 2400&1\\ 12600&x \end{array}\implies \cfrac{2400}{12600}=\cfrac{1}{x}\) solve for "x"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2400

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

2,400 days? that's 6years and a half, or 78 months.. .man, I'd like to get a few of those long-lasting lightbulbs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know :(

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

just cross-multiply, and solve for "x"

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

just do it, like you did it in the previous one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5.25

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

so.. how did you get "x" anyway?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was 12600 multiply by 1 and then divide it by 2400

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

yeap \(\bf \cfrac{2400}{12600}=\cfrac{1}{x}\implies x=\cfrac{\cancel{12600}}{\cancel{2400}}\implies x=5.25\)
