Hopps was hired to dry windows according to the following plan: $0.01 the first day, $0.02 the second day, $0.04 the third day, and so on, with each day doubling the amount earned on the previous day. After 20 days, they both quit. Who earned more money? How much more?

If Kelvin earned 40 Dollars a day, then in 20 days he would earn 40x20=800 dollars Lets look at how much Hopps earned: (0.01,0.02,0.04,0.08,0.16,0.32,0.64,1.28,2.56,5.12,10.24,20.48,40.96,81.92,163.84,327.68,655.36,1310.72,2621.44,5242.88) Now add these all up and you will get 10485.75 So hopps earned more Now to see how much more he earned you can do 10485.75-800= 9685.75 dollars more
