OpenStudy (wcrmelissa2001):

Help please! |x^2-10x+8|<8

zepdrix (zepdrix):

\[\large\rm |x^2-10x+8|<8\]Are you ok with this step? :)\[\large\rm -8<~x^2-10x+8~<8\]

OpenStudy (wcrmelissa2001):

yup. I also got until there, it's after there I don't get.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

\[\large\rm -8<~\color{orangered}{x^2-10x}+8~<8\]Let's try to complete the square on the x's.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Remember how to complete the square? Half of -10 is -5, and squaring the -5 gives us 25. So 25 is the value that completes the square for us.

OpenStudy (wcrmelissa2001):

Complete the square? oh. OMG. I forgot thanks man!

OpenStudy (wcrmelissa2001):

:D

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Oh you got it from there? :D haha

OpenStudy (wcrmelissa2001):

yup! completely forgot about completing the square. Thanks so much :D
