OpenStudy (johnnewman):

will medal and fan Which inequality is false? A. –6 < –3 B. 12 > –7 C. –5 > –2 D. 4 < 9

hartnn (hartnn):

what do u think?

OpenStudy (breannagaushas):

C

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

c.

hartnn (hartnn):

Please do not give out answers :)

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Why is it C, tell me?

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Because it is negative! WHICH EVER negative integer is close to 0, is higher. In other words, less numbers are greater than higher numbers. :

OpenStudy (breannagaushas):

because negative 5 is not greater than negative 2 because -5 is farther away from zero on the left side which makes it C

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

|dw:1456124468820:dw| EXAMPLE: So 3, would be higher than '6'. -3 > -6.

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Keep in mind, - is opposed to +

OpenStudy (breannagaushas):

actually @MissSmartiez you cant put positive numbers on the left side of zero because that would make them negative

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

i know, I was too lazy to correct them @BreannaGaushas ... YOU should know what I meant since it is behind zero, common sense though. |dw:1456125106903:dw|

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Though thanks for pointing that out.

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):
