Can you Multiply factors with decimals? How do you know where to put your decimal point in your answer?

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

What do you mean by that?

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

e.g.\[5.57x?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well idk xD it was just a question i copy and pasted its for a review

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

What section/chapter are you learning (preferably title/subtitle please)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok , the section is module 1 section 6 divison with mixed numbers

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

I believe the answer is yes. The decimal point, though: Multiply normally, ignoring the decimal points. Then put the decimal point in the answer - it will have as many decimal places as the two original numbers combined. link: https://www.mathsisfun.com/multiplying-decimals.html

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Yeah, it works out.

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

You get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I did thank you very much

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

No problem ☺
