Well, the quote from the DoI puts an emphasis on "all men are created equal" and during this time in history humanism was a big thing. And America is and always has been very protective of their rights, just for being humans. With these facts in mind, I'd have to say the answer is C, since it does make the most sense in junction with the Declaration of Independence.

In my opinion it would be C. This question is tough, though, since most of the other answers could also make sense in this context. With D, democracy HAS been a staple within the American government. Though, I still think it's C.

The definition of Federalism is "A system of government in which power is divided between a national (federal) government and various regional governments." Basically a federation. Think Star Wars, if you will. A federation is a group of organisations (countries, companies, and such), that have basically all gotten together and formed a club of sorts. This is to appear intimidating and protect themselves better, and offer protection if one of their pals is threatened. With THAT in mind, I'd have to say the answer is B.
