well pick the 2 points closed to the line... and find the clope
M = rise/run rise = change in y run = chaneg in x
the slope will be negative....
OpenStudy (freemap):
just a sec
OpenStudy (campbell_st):
so looking at the diagram you will use (4, 4) and (5.5, 3.5)
so change in y or run is -0.5 run = 1.5
I'll leave you to calculate the value of the slope

OpenStudy (freemap):
I got the slope from 4,4 and 5.5, 3.5
OpenStudy (phi):
if you are using the points
(4, 4) and (5.5, 3.5)
do 4-3.5 for change in y
4 - 5.5 for change in x
what do you get for each ?

.5 and -1.5
OpenStudy (phi):
what is 0.5/ -1.5 ?
OpenStudy (freemap):
.333remainder
OpenStudy (phi):
what happen to the minus sign Plus/ minus is minus
OpenStudy (freemap):
I divided -0.5/-1.5 instead of .5/-1.5=-333remainder

so the answer rounded to 3 decimals is -0.333
OpenStudy (freemap):
333
OpenStudy (freemap):
-333
OpenStudy (phi):
- ⅓ is -0.333 not -333
