Anyone have a pet turtle? i have 2 baby turtles and I was wondering if it's ok to use actual sunlight instead of a UVB light. I of course bring them inside and put a basking light on for the night until I decide to go to bed. Is that ok?

rebeccaxhawaii (rebeccaxhawaii):

awwwww thats how i left my chicks

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

My brother had one.

rebeccaxhawaii (rebeccaxhawaii):

i dont quite know about turtles though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, that's ok then

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

It ran away from him, because he left it out too long. However, his name is speedy, and I loved him.

OpenStudy (daniee_bruhh):

I think the UVB light is good... I had turtles when I was a kid and that's what I used :)

OpenStudy (daniee_bruhh):

@MissSmartiez OMG ONE OF MY TURTLES WAS NAMED SPEEDY!!!

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Also, UVBs do help them I believe, since they are cold blooded, they need some sunlight

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

(OMMM--- XDD)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I take them outside everyday though, is that ok?

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

But not too much we do not want cracked skin and over heating.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, so is 83 degrees too hot?

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

1: WATCH THEM 2: GIVE THEM SUNLIGHT AND OR Exerise. However, let them cool off and or rest too!

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

It can be if you leave them out too long without water I believe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, I'm outside doing homework lol (homeschooled)

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

lol ok
