FAN AND MEDAL!!! A bag contains 25 marbles of the same size that are yellow, green, and purple. The probability of picking a yellow marble is 20%. The probability of picking a green marble is 50%. Determine the probability of picking a purple marble from the bag and then classify the probability of picking a purple marble as likely or not likely to occur.

OpenStudy (swaugh):

what are the answer choices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Heres what I have I just need t know if im right : 100% is the total of all marbles. 20% is Yellow Marbles. 50% is Green Marbles. 100 - (20 + 50) =30% The probability of picking a Purple Marble is 30% and is unlikely.

Oh I have to write it down btw no answer choices

OpenStudy (oryzae):

Well, we know yellow makes up 20% of the bag then, and green 50%. Adding those together would make 70%, and we know only purple marbles remain. This would make purple marbles 30%, so unlikely.

Oh okay so I'm right yay!! Thank you :D

@Oryzae Can you check another one I did for me?
