The easiest way to go about solving this, is to find the area of each shape and add together.

Start on the left rect.: 5x8=40
Middle rect: 12*8 = 96
Right rect: 13*8 = 104
The triangles will be: 30 each.

Add those together to get 40+96+104+30+30 = 300in^2.

This is even easier than the last!

Starting from left to right then top and finally bottom rectangle:

6*8 = 48
11*8 = 88
6*8 = 48
11*8 = 88
11*6 = 66
11*6 = 66

Add those together to get: 404ft^2. Do you see where I am getting the numbers from?
