Do you know which is the line y = -x ? :)

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Do you mean |dw:1456347773794:dw|

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Is there a certain rule that I need to follow when doing y = -x? For example, I know that when I have y= x, then it means that I need to switch the positions of the x- and y-coordinates? Anything of that sort, in this case?

OpenStudy (kamibug):

Yep ! The rule is (x, y) -> (-y, -x)

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

So when I have y = -x, then I would switch the positions of the coordinate and then find its opposite?

OpenStudy (kamibug):

Exactly :)

But if you had (-3 ,2) and you had to find it's reflective point across y = -x, then it would be \((2, -3) \rightarrow (-2, 3)\)
