Will Fan, Medal, and write testimony! Really need help!
Given the equation 2x – 3y + 4z =12, find the three intercepts for this plane and graph it below. Show your work.
divide by 12 and then write in the form \[\frac{ x }{ a }+\frac{ y }{ b }+\frac{ z }{ c }=1\] here a,b,c are the intercepts
@surjithayer So I would divide 2x – 3y + 4z =12 by 12? Im confused...
Sorry, Im really horrible at geometry
@Juan21 Do you get it?
Im working on it
@Juan21 Okay thanks :)
I think the answer is (6,0,0) (0,-4,0) (0,0,3)
@Juan21 Could you show me how you got that? I was trying to solve it before and had gotten the (6,0,0) answer for one of them but my other two were different. I probably did something wrong so could i compare ours?
Sure. So to find the intercepts you plug in a zero for the other variables. For example, to find the y intercept you 2(0)-3y+4(0)=12-------> -3y=12, divide by -3,-----> y=-4
@Juan21 Ohhh I see what I did wrong! Thanks so much!
