OpenStudy (tanabugg):

c) Which volume-to-surface-area ratio would be better for an ice cube – the lowest possible or the highest possible?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

depends does it want to melt, or stay solid or, just hang

OpenStudy (tanabugg):

It doesn't say

OpenStudy (tanabugg):

Hold on

OpenStudy (tanabugg):

Since the purpose of an ice cube is to keep a drink cold, is it better for an ice cube to have a high volume or a low volume?

OpenStudy (tanabugg):

That was the first question they asked so I'm assuming it wants to stay?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

depends on so many factors! cool it down quickly, keep it cool for the longest period?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

a sphere creates the minimum surface area to volume ratio. that's why Polar Bears are spherical compared to other bears, they need to keep as much heat in as poss. so, is the ice cube keeping it's temperature, or doing something useful? depends on the context, i suppose :p

OpenStudy (tanabugg):

Thank you! I guess I figured it out. I'll get a bad grade but I can make corrections
