Please Help! Triangle GHI is dilated to form new triangle JKL. If angle H is congruent to angle K, what other information will prove that the two triangles are similar? (5 points) Angle G is congruent to angle L. Side GH is congruent to side JK. Angle I is congruent to angle L. Side IG is congruent to side LJ.

OpenStudy (dyann.cardona):

@dan815 @zepdrix anyone?

OpenStudy (phi):

similar triangles have "congruent" i.e. equal corresponding angles when they show the angles as in GHI and JKL, I would "line them up" G H I J K L if you can at least 2 pairs are equal then you know the third pair are also equal. they tell you H and K are equal. That is one pair. You need one more pair. Which choice mentions one of the remaining two pairs: G & J or I & L ?

OpenStudy (dyann.cardona):

G and J?

OpenStudy (dyann.cardona):

@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

which choice is that ?

OpenStudy (dyann.cardona):

so its B?

OpenStudy (phi):

which choices mentions angles (not sides) ?

OpenStudy (dyann.cardona):

C?

OpenStudy (dyann.cardona):

@phil

OpenStudy (phi):

why ?

OpenStudy (dyann.cardona):

because it looks like the only one that fits

OpenStudy (phi):

because it is the only choice that mentions angle I match angle L if they had a choice that had angle G and J , that would also be an answer (but they don't)

OpenStudy (dyann.cardona):

so c is the only appropriate choice right

OpenStudy (dyann.cardona):

thank youuu
