What is a good topic for an argumentative essay?

I was thinking "Do the benefits of medical marijuana justify its legality?" but would I start the essay off with that or as an actual claim? like "Using medical marijuana does not justify its legality." or "The effects of medical marijuana justify its legality." ?

To be honest, I think medical marijuana is an excellent topic. Itʻs something, I, myself find interesting. Just today, I was watching youtube and came across an ad, that was "for" marijuana, in the sense of, it was in favor for having medical marijuana. It showed people using it, how it was like a revolution of sorts. They had people who had trauma, and showed how they felt better when using the drug.

With all the controversy, I think it would make an excellent topic :)

Yes, medical marijuana. I think I would say it is good to take/use for the terminally ill and illnesses like that but we should restrict its uses with other people. @ShadowLegendX
