Given: x - 7 > -2. Choose the solution set. {x | x R, x > -9} {x | x R, x > -5} {x | x R, x > 5} {x | x R, x > 14}

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

solve so that you get x by itself

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

add to both sides 7 - so what will get ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x Itself would be 5, Right?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

make the first step what i have wrote to you above please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So -2 + 7 would be 5, and 7 + 7 would be 14?

OpenStudy (pup02):

the answer would be 14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

{x | x R, x > 14}?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

not is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I had run the math with my brother, {x | x R, x > 5} Should be the correct one.

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

x-7>-2 add to both sides 7 x-7+7 > -2+7 x > 5 this will result sure

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

yes this is right what you have wrote above now but do you understand it how get this result ?
