OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

so the last angle is pretty simple so say, we'll look for the opposite side |dw:1456615911673:dw| so.. recall your SOH CAH TOA \(sin(\theta)=\cfrac{opposite}{hypotenuse} \qquad \qquad % cosine cos(\theta)=\cfrac{adjacent}{hypotenuse} \\ \quad \\ % tangent tan(\theta)=\cfrac{opposite}{adjacent}\) which identity includes ONLY the angle the oppostie side and the adjacent? notice, you have the angle and the adjacent, you're looking for the opposite, thus

OpenStudy (tylermckinney16):

tan?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

yes

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so how can you rewriting tan 40° = ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

opposite divide adjacent = ?

OpenStudy (tylermckinney16):

How do i know what numbers to divide lol?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

tan40° = oposite / adjacent tan40° = opposite / 6 tan 40°° = 0,83 0,83 = opposite /6 opposite = 6*0,83 = ?

OpenStudy (tylermckinney16):

4.98?

OpenStudy (tylermckinney16):

@jhonyy9

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):
