OpenStudy (babynini):

Area of an elipse!

OpenStudy (babynini):

\[4x^2+y^2=9\] in my distant memory I remember wanting to try and rewrite it like this\[\frac{ 4x^2 }{ 9 }+\frac{ y^2 }{ 9 }=1\] right?

hartnn (hartnn):

or even better \(\frac{ x^2 }{ 9/4 }+\frac{ y^2 }{ 9 }=1\)

hartnn (hartnn):

in that way we can compare it easily with \(\dfrac{x^2}{a^2} +\dfrac{y^2}{b^2} =1\)

hartnn (hartnn):

so whats your a,b?

OpenStudy (babynini):

a= (3/2) b=3

hartnn (hartnn):

and Area of ellipse = \(\pi ab\)

OpenStudy (babynini):

= 9pi/2

hartnn (hartnn):

\(\huge \checkmark \)

OpenStudy (babynini):

YUS! xD why are these getting so short. I'm waiting for another long one to sneak up soon o.o

OpenStudy (babynini):

thank you!!

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^
