BRAIN TWISTER!!!!! A father, mother, and two children(Tom and Lucy) are hiking when they come to a river. There is a small boat at the shoreline that can carry one adult or two children. If they put two adults or one child an adult in the boat, it will sink. How can the family cross the river safely?

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

everyone can steer the boat?

OpenStudy (watermelon_talk):

exactly how can everyone steer the boat?

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

Tom and Lucy go Tom back the dad go Lucy back Tom and Lucy go Tom back Mom go Lucy back both kids go Tadaaaa

OpenStudy (kikuo):

Is this a trick question? Couldn't the mom or dad cross one child safely, come back, cross the other child safely, and then allow the dad to jump in and go to the other side?

OpenStudy (kikuo):

dad or mom* Then all of them would have crossed.

OpenStudy (watermelon_talk):

@Kikuo no in my Brain twister it clearly says it has to be 1 adult and 2 children if its anything more or less the bout will sink

OpenStudy (watermelon_talk):

OpenStudy (ikram002p):
