trigonometry, How would you solve part (d) ? https://www.dropbox.com/s/sofy29c60fbs6le/Screenshot%202016-02-28%2018.46.06.png?dl=0

OpenStudy (christos):

@hartnn do u know about this ?

hartnn (hartnn):

x = tan y

hartnn (hartnn):

so what is sin y?

OpenStudy (christos):

I get stuck at sin(y) = sqrt(1 - cos^2(y))

hartnn (hartnn):

start from x = tan y = sin y/cos y = sin y/ sqrt(1-sin^2 y) x = sin y/ sqrt(1-sin^2 y) try to isolate sin y here thats just one way..there can be oter ways too

hartnn (hartnn):

you can also use triangle method

OpenStudy (christos):

hmm how would you use the triangle method for this ?

hartnn (hartnn):

x = tan y |dw:1456678297925:dw|

OpenStudy (christos):

sqrt(x^2 + 1 ) is the hypotenuse

OpenStudy (christos):

so sin(y) is equal to x/sqrt(x^1 +1) and I am done ?

hartnn (hartnn):

x^2+1** yes!

OpenStudy (christos):

^2 *

OpenStudy (christos):

hmm I see :D Thanks : -)

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^
